Sickness Policy

With the best of intentions, there can be injuries or illnesses at school.  We have a well-trained nursing team at school 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help us when this happens. Should your child be injured we will take them to visit the nurse. If necessary, you will be notified by the nurse.

If your child is sick, please keep them at home until they are well again.  If they have had diarrhea or fever they should be free from this for at least 24 hours before attending school again.

Sicknesses can spread very easily to other children and our teachers can also be infected.  If we believe that your child is sick after being brought to school, we will take them to see the nurse and if they are ill, you will be asked to come to school to collect them.

If your child is well enough to attend school but requires any form of medication, please take the medication to the school nurse (located at the entrance to Primary).

Please do not put any medicines into your child’s bag. The medicine should be clearly labeled with your child’s name and doctor’s instructions for giving the medicine. Please note: Teachers or assistants will not give any medicine to children.  This can only be done by the qualified school nurses.

NB: Please notify the school and class teacher if you have a change of telephone number and please try to keep your phone switched on while your child is in school.
